That’s why Sam Leman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram FIAT Morton has done the heavy lifting for you in Pekin, with this convenient comparison. Here, we review both vehicles’ towing capacities, performance, and interior specs. Take a few minutes to look over the features that make these trucks unique, right here.

Power and Fuel Efficiency in the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150

Options for either a V6 or V8 engine are available with both the new Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. Their transmissions both perform at a high level, but Washington drivers tend to gravitate toward the Ram 1500 specs:

  • F-150 Engines: There are six engine options available in the Ford F-150, maxing out at 450 hp with a 3.5L twin turbo or 395-hp 5.0L V8.
  • Ram 1500 Engines: Better fuel economy is a Ram 1500 hallmark, with a mild hybrid V8 engine system available for East Peoria roads, along with a max 395-hp 5.7L V8
  • Transmissions: The Ram 1500 is available with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the F-150 can be had with a 6-speed automatic or a 10-speed automatic.
  • Fuel Economy Ratings: The Ram 1500 and F-150 both offer 20 mpg city, while the Ram offers 25 mpg and the F-150 offers 26 mpg highway.

Towing Capacity for F-150 or Ram 1500

The 2019 Ram 1500 towing capacitymaxes out at 12,750 pounds, featuring Best-in-Class V8 Towing, courtesy of a 5.7L HEMI® V8 with eTorque. That goes beyond the F-150’s capabilities with a standard V8, although both produce 395 hp. Specifically, the F-150 tows up to 11,600 pounds. With the 3.5 L EcoBoost V6, the F-150 bests the Ram 1500 just slightly at 13,000 pounds.

Features for the F-150 or Ram 1500

At the base level, the 2019 Ram 1500 provides Eureka drivers with better value, since the Ram 1500 interior comes standard with a number of features not found in the Ford F-150’s standard outfit:

  • Uconnect® infotainment system
  • Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Voice recognition
  • Six-speaker sound system
  • Adjustable rear seat head restraints
  • One-touch up driver and passenger windows
  • Power rear windows
  • Cruise control
